I’ve had much foie gras throughout my life, I’ve had industrial, home made, rustic, and of many different grades up to the top ones. Pierre’s Foie Gras is indeed one of the best I’ve tried, and definitely the best I’ve had in Shanghai.
I particularly appreciated the effort by Pierre to bring such a traditional food and experiment with it so to achieve something as delicious as it is unique. And that’s absolutely what the Sichuan Pepper Foie Gras is all about. A perfectly delicious and balanced terrine, with buttery foie and a little spicy kick from the Sichuan pepper coating.
I also liked the chocolate foie gras, especially with brioche bread and apricot jam. If you’re having guests home this holiday season, impress them with a one of a kind dessert: slice of grilled brioche, coated with apricot jam and a thinly sliced piece of this special foie gras.
At the price of 199 RMB per jar you really can’t go wrong with it. Plus if you happen to get Pierre himself to deliver his foie, he’s quite a tasty bite as well 😉
